'2 States' is a movie that has, over the years, resonated with so many couples! Here is a couple, with the bride being Tamilian and the groom a Gujarati, who had their own North-South wedding by the beautiful beachside in Mahabalipuram. The wedding seemed like a fun affair, which broke away from the usual functions and rituals, with the couple starting their happily ever after, their way. Kudos to Rohan Mishra Photography for the happy, candid clicks!
Meet Srinidhi and Rishi
Rishi and I met in college, during my first year at NIT Nagpur. He was one year my senior, and we met at the Mumbai airport while catching our flight to Nagpur, after a weekend break at home. We exchanged numbers in the cab on our way to college, and have been talking to each other non-stop ever since. We started dating within a month of meeting.

From The Couple
2 states was the first movie we watched together and it resonated with us because Rishi hails from a Gujarati family while I come from a Tamil household. So we decided to get married in Taj Fisherman's Cove in Mahabalipuram, by the beach just like in the movie.
We had a Mehendi and Garden Party on 8th December evening. The decor's theme was pastel pink and green colors. The venue was by the beach. The highlight of the event was a donut wall put together for us by our planners, the Tailored Tales.
On 8th night, we had a non-cocktail dinner party and DJ night instead of a traditional sangeet. We had a custom cake made for us by Jeanne Ferrer, a Chennai based baker.
Next day morning we had our Muhurtham between 7:30 am - 9:00 am. It rained just as Rishi and I made our entries, and then stopped as suddenly as it came. We got married with the beach as our backdrop, our union solmenized by a female priest, as we decided to forego the Kanyadaan, Bidaai and some other rituals, thus starting our marriage together as equal partners.
About The WedMeGood App
We used the WedMeGood App to help us with our wedding planning. Living in the US, I had to figure out how to do my wedding shopping and make all the decisions remotely. This is where WedMeGood came into the picture. I found both my wedding and reception photographers, wedding MUA and our wedding decor coordinator on WedMeGood. It made my job extremely easy and stress-free and all the people I worked with were super professional and made our dream wedding a reality.

Rohan, Puja and their team were wonderful to work with. Our wedding pictures were extremely dreamy and came out better than we could have ever imagined. They made us feel extremely comfortable on the event days. They were extremely professional, helped us with posing and were totally non-interfering during the ceremonies. We could not have asked for a better team to work with.
