From The Bride
Our wedding took place on March 27, 2024. I wanted to embrace my south Indian roots, When I was planning my wedding looks, I wanted to stick with classic-timeless pieces, something I would look back 5-10 years down the lane and still love the looks as i did now. For jewellery I chose Mango Hara, Tussi choker and a Makari hara which can be passed down through generations making it the perfect heirloom jewellery. For outfits - I chose soft pastels and gold in kanchivaram weaves to enhance the whole look.
Bridal Outfit Breakdown
1. Engagement - I chose a red banaras saree for my pre-engagement rituals from Mrunalini Rao.
2. My Engagement saree is picked up from weavers in Dharamavaram, has beautiful florals and bride details over the saree with pastels colorplay on a kanchivaram weave!
3. My pre wedding saree is sourced from Maharashtra - A tussar silk saree with Vidarbha border featuring hand painted motifs!
4. My haldi outfit is from Tarun Tahiliani - A cream Kasab satin lehenga with red crystal fringes!
5. My mehendi outfit is from Tarun Tahiliani - a fuschia pink lehenga in sheer silk and Chanderi fabric with Kashida threadwork!
6. My sangeet outfit is from Abhinav Mishra - Tissue silk base with mirror work!
7. My muhurtham saree is a pastel pink on a gold base kanchivaram saree sourced from Kanchi, I decided to add a fuschia pink hand embroidered boder on the saree and duppata .
8. For the Reception, I wore a lehenga by Tarun Tahiliani
