Meet Keerthana and Suraj

We were introduced by our families. My (now) husband got my number and texted me, asking if I wanted to Facetime. On our first Facetime we stayed up until 4 am chatting and the rest is history! In October of 2022, Suraj surprised me with the most beautiful proposal in Austin, Texas overlooking a gorgeous colorful fall sky with musicians playing string instruments and our families and close friends nearby to surprise me!

From The Bride:

Our wedding took place on September 3, 2023. Our wedding was truly representative of us! Growing up, I loved spending time in India and I knew that I wanted to bring my favorite parts of India to the US. This included a “prema mela” sangeet that included fun carnival games, our traditional mandap with banana leaves, and all the amazing south indian food! I also wanted to find ways to incorporate our shared favorite things including a Mexican Fiesta for our welcome dinner, that included tacos and churros, to our custom coffee bar. We had the most beautiful weekend surrounded my our family, friends and loved ones where we danced, laughed, cried (happy tears) and celebrated our love!

This beautiful venue was located along the river in my hometown. The staff were wonderful, and it felt very special to get married so close to my childhood home. I even went to prom at the same place.

Oh my gosh what can I even say about Alexandria! She was truly incredible to work with, and such a calming presence during the wedding weekend. She made me feel and look like an absolute princess!

Mir and his team were so fun to work with! We had our pre-wedding shoot in New York City with them. We just spent the day hanging out with them so we were already so comfortable with the team before the wedding. They went above and beyond on our same-day-edit that played at the reception!

Bridal Jewellery: Shree Jewellers Hyderabad

Anil Uncle and my Dad had been friends for over 30 years. I grew up playing with jewels and spending time in his jewelry store, and he always created beautiful pieces for our family. After he passed away during the pandemic, I knew wedding jewelry shopping was going to be really emotional. Despite this, the family at Shree made me feels so special and I know Anil Uncle was smiling from above!

Decor: Décor One by Nalini 

Nalini aunty went above and beyond for our wedding. She truly captured the vision of my wedding and from the mandap of dreams to the sangeet thatched roofs, I think she always creates something so unique and specific to her couple!

Such a fun family run company to order from! My mom discovered them on instagram and she also met them in person at an exhibition in Hyderabad. The clothes were not only beautifully made, but were so incredibly comfy! 10/10.

Wedding - Bhargavi Kunam Studios

It was truly a special moment for me to have Bhargavi Kunam design my wedding sari. She has been designing clothes for me since I was 12 years old and I truly feel the most beautiful in her traditional wear! She designed my wedding sari, Suraj’s dhoti, my mom’s sari, my brother’s kurta and my dad’s dhoti as well! She had a beautiful vision for my sari, and I could not have been happier with it. It was truly the wedding sari of my dreams.

I cannot say enough incredible things about the team. Klashikhz, Chani, and their entire team worked tirelessly to create an incredible ambience, vibe and celebration for us! From the LED wall to spinning tunes at the afterparty until 2 am, they really made the mood fun and exciting!

Wedding Stationary - Samreen Chawla Design

Samreen was such a pleasure to work with. We would have late night calls (early morning for her) and it was so fun getting to discuss my vision for the wedding stationary - including quirky elements with traditional inspiration. I LOVED how she incorporated fun animal motifs and lotus flowers throughout the stationary. She created beautiful wedding invites and coasters that were used throughout the events and a welcome sign for our guests in the hotel!
