If there is one thing we love about this wedding, it has to be the couple's love story- and their different versions of it! Sanjana and Shanath are doctors who found love during COVID, and they both have their own versions of how it happened! Their Kodava wedding was rich in tradition at a gorgeous venue in Mysore. Sanjana's bridal choices were beautiful too, and their union an elegant affair full of hearty smiles. Take a look for yourself.
Meet Sanjana and Shanath
Sanjana's Version
As the wiser one, it is important to set the record straight. It was a new step up in my career, working as the senior doctor at Arrowe Park Wirral, and I had been fortunate enough to create a fan club for myself. Shaan was of course the leading entrant to this club. As destiny calls it, we were paired up for our on call shifts and this led to an unexpected friendship. Often scenes of Shaan falling over, winking at me whilst chasing me across the hospital in awe and blow drying his hair to impress me became a familiar routine. During which I would enjoy advising him, laughing with him, teaching him, learning about him, being intrigued by him and sharing my future life dreams.
Eventually this turned into 'Love during the time of COVID' and very much a quintessential bollywood film. From the first date of serving me frozen Carbonara pasta, our beautiful holidays, to a romantic proposal in Miami and now planning our weddings together, Shaan has continued to surprise me and keep me on my toes which I admire.
Shanath's Version
Imagine a young, innocent & sweet young doctor starting a job at a new hospital at Arrowe Park, Wirral. That was me. All fresh faced and expecting many things from my job. What I didn't expect was to meet Sanjana. The first time I met her, she offered to make me a coffee & we worked together closely from that point, becoming close friends (incidentally, the first coffee she ever made me had around 3 tablespoons of instant coffee in, resulting in me being unable to sleep for the next week). In fact, she chased me all over Arrowe Park until I eventually 'caved in' and we started dating (she disputes this version of events massively, however she is greatly mistaken)*.
From the moment of our first date, where I made her an almost-gourmet meal, our time together has been a blur of laughter, memories and an inordinate amount of baked goods. In fact, I have never eaten so many baked treats in my entire life - Type 2 Diabetes has never seemed so inevitable. Even despite Sanjana moving to Boston for the year, our relationship has gone from strength to strength & culminated in an extremely well-thought and romantic proposal in Miami (I winged it, forgot to go down on one knee & then fell over)**.
We have had our challenges (the distance & my refusal to understand time-difference, my dress sense or lack thereof, my mouth and the things which occasionally come out of it) but we have never been happier.
And here we are. That young, fresh-faced and innocent young lad got to get married to a girl who is lovely, funny, smart & above all else - tolerant!

Wedding
From The Couple:
Our wedding took place on 4th December 2022. We both wanted our wedding to be reflective of us as a couple, which is fun, vibrant whilst incorporating the important cultural traditions. Our vision was to allow our guests to learn and appreciate the unique Coorg traditions that are held at our wedding as well, whether this was through selection of food, dance and traditional clothing. We had guests from all across the world and wanted them to learn about the important Coorgi traditions whilst having a venue that was beautiful and infuses such elegance into the wedding . Our style was to be colourful with our approach to outfits, decor, invites and adding personal touches to important Kodava traditions like the Urkooduva, Mangala, Ganga Puja & Nir Edepe.
About The WedMeGood App
I used the WedMeGood website to plan and read all the reviews on the vendors. Its a great platform to appreciate all the work by different vendors and choose accordingly to our needs for the wedding. The platform is easily accessible and I would highly recommend using this for others planning their dream wedding.
