Meet Sneha and Abhay
When people ask how my husband and I met, I always smile and think back to the beginning. We met through a marriage portal, and after four months of heartfelt conversations filled with laughter and discovery, we knew we had something special. Despite coming from different backgrounds—he is Tamil and I’m Telugu—there was never any discomfort between us. Our connection grew so naturally that when he flew from Seattle to meet me in Dallas, it felt like the most seamless step forward. Once we knew we wanted to take this journey together, we told our parents, and everything effortlessly fell into place.

From The Bride:
Our wedding took place on March 29, 2024. Our wedding was a reflection of both tradition and the blending of cultures. It was a simple Tamil-Telugu wedding, as I am Telugu, and though my family has been settled in Mumbai for three generations, we’ve always stayed close to our southern roots. From the start, I knew I wanted to honor that and be a traditional Telugu bride.
At the same time, it was important to me to embrace Abhay’s culture as well. We thoughtfully wove in elements from his Tamil heritage, like the sacred thali I wore, his traditional attire for the ceremony and some more. These touches made the day feel like a true union of not just two individuals but of our families and backgrounds.
One of the most meaningful moments for me was during the kanyadaan. Growing up as the only girl among my cousins in a loving joint family, I was surrounded by the constant support and care of not just my parents, but also my uncles, aunts, and all my brothers and sisters-in-law. So, when the time came for the ceremony, it wasn’t just my parents who gave me away—everyone who had watched me grow played a part. It made the day all the more special, knowing that all these people who had been such an integral part of my life were truly a part of my wedding, making the entire experience feel intimate and filled with love.
As for our wedding attire, I wanted to honor both of our traditions. My wedding saree, gifted by Abhay’s parents, was brought from Chennai, representing his Tamil roots, while my pelli saree came from Hyderabad, reflecting my own Telugu heritage. Abhay’s traditional attire was also sourced from Chennai, beautifully blending our cultures. Every piece we wore carried a deep sentimental value, making our wedding day not just a union of two people, but a celebration of our shared backgrounds and the love between our families.

Vendor Reviews
Venue: BAPS Swaminarayan Kala Kendra
We had our wedding at BAPS Swaminarayan Kala Kendra in Navi Mumbai, and it was a solid choice for our celebration. Located away from the hustle and bustle of Mumbai's city life, the venue offered a calm atmosphere that was perfect for our ceremony. The facility was well-maintained, and the staff were helpful and accommodating throughout the planning process and the events. One major advantage was that all our guests had comfortable rooms to stay in, which made logistics much easier. The kids had ample space to run and play, keeping them engaged and happy. Most importantly, having everything on-site meant our families didn’t have to deal with the traffic that can often be a headache in the city. Overall, our experience at BAPS Swaminarayan Kala Kendra was very positive, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a practical and meaningful wedding venue.

I had the pleasure of working with Neha Chinnappa for my wedding and reception, and she truly is the best makeup artist I could have asked for. Neha was incredibly accommodating, professional, and calm throughout the process, with a kind demeanor and no attitude at all. She arrived on time and took the time to communicate with me, explaining her requirements while also understanding my vision. The result was exactly what I wanted, making me feel beautiful on my special day. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a talented and approachable makeup artist!
